Award winning alpaca farm in Dartmoor National Park

Up close and personal

Interactive Alpaca Experiences

If you are coming to Devon then you have to try one of my awarding winning, up close and hands on alpaca experiences to make memories of a lifetime. You will want to take them all home, I promise!

My alpaca boys are truly unique and all have very distinctive personalities - no two alpacas are the same so you are guaranteed to find a kindred spirit you will fall in love with (and don't forget Snowball sheep who will melt your heart). If you are looking to get really close and have some very special moments with these majestic creatures then you are in luck. Most of my boys are closely related and all share the same wonderful, affectionate and friendly temperament which allows us to get quite literally hands on with them - well who doesn't want to touch those gorgeous fluffy coats?

I run a small alpaca farm on the western edge of Dartmoor National Park and if you are looking for a down to earth. personal and very non commercial experience then I am the place for you. Run solely by myself (I am either a genius or crazy) I will show you how to interact with my boys so that you can create your own special bonds with them.

Don't just take my word for it! Check out what customers have to say...

"If you are in the area you HAVE to visit Helen and her alpacas! We surprised my mum for her 60th birthday and it did not disappoint. The alpacas are great fun and Helen is wonderful, you can truly see how much she cares for the animals.. Helen even got involved in pretending we were going climbing by winding my mum up! Suitable for lots of different ages! My mum struggles walking too far due to a bad hip but it was perfect for her, the alpacas take their time and Helen was very accommodating suggesting different walks.We had a wonderful morning! Joker, Occy, Mr T, Bubbles, Mr Sharps and Tucker were angels. Not forgetting Barney who was a character but eventually gave mum a birthday kiss!"

How to find me and the fluffs

Lydford Gorge Alpacas, Forda Farm, Lydford, EX20 4BL

///router.barefoot.months

I am conveniently located directly opposite the entrance for the National Trust Whitelady Waterfalls at Lydford Gorge. Park anywhere on the driveway and I will come out to greet you. Macca will be waiting for you at the gate hoping for a kiss!

Don't have a car? Then you are in luck as the 118 bus service run by Dartline Coaches stops right outside. This frequent service runs from Okehampton to Tavistock. The stop on the timetable is called Lydford Gorge lower entrance.

Prefer to cycle? The lane that runs past the farm is the West 27 cycle route and you can leave your bicycle safe behind a locked gate.
