Meet the animals people remember by name
One of the things people remember most here is not just the scenery or the walk, but the animals themselves. Each one has a very different personality. Some are gentle and cuddly, some are gloriously mischievous, and some have a habit of stealing the show entirely.
Many guests arrive expecting alpacas to be shy or reserved, and leave with a favourite they are still talking about long after their visit.

What makes the animals here feel so special is not just how they look, but how relaxed and characterful they are with people. That trust has been built over years, and it is a huge part of what makes the experiences feel so calm, personal and memorable.

Joker
The one who started it all
The alpaca who shaped this whole business, Joker helped show just how calm and affectionate alpacas could be. Much of the warmth and confidence guests notice in the herd today traces back to him.
Mr Sharps
The cuddle expert
Deaf, gentle and deeply relaxed with people, Mr Sharps is known for leaning into fuss and sometimes falling asleep beside guests. He is very often named as a favourite, and once you meet him it is easy to see why.
Langford
The Problem Child
Born by caesarean and bottle fed, Langford has always done life his own way. Full of character, he marches straight over and shoves his face in to say hello, and while he can be complex, he is sweet, cuddly, and coming on brilliantly.
Little Phil
The floppy bundle of fluff
Langford’s brother, Little Phil is wonderfully dozy, sweet-natured and relaxed. Just as cuddly as Mr Sharps, he is quick to fall asleep on people and is a calm, confident favourite with little children.
Macca Paca
The poser
Big, goofy and full of presence, Macca has a habit of staring people down as he sizes everyone up. He is not keen on being touched, but loves attention, gives kisses whether invited or not, and is one of the best posers here.
Jasper
The gangster
Small and skinny but full of attitude, Jasper is always growling, making noises and barging others out of the way when he wants something. He does not like being touched, but he is confident, comical and always first in line.
Occy
Born to trek
Joker’s son, Occy has the same wonderfully relaxed and friendly temperament. Fearless and full of confidence, he chose to be trek leader at just seven months old and still loves to be out front.
Bubbles
The water baby
Joker’s full brother, Bubbles is one of the standout favourites with visitors and goes everywhere with his bestie Barney. Relaxed and affectionate, he loves water and enjoys sitting close with people.

The honorary alpacas
They may technically be sheep, but Snowball and Queenie have fully appointed themselves honorary alpacas — and guests adore them.
Snowball
The dog sheep
Moved in with the alpacas after being bullied by the other sheep, Snowball quickly made himself at home. He likes to kiss people politely and sit on their feet so they cannot leave. He is often one of the first characters guests fall for.
Queenie
The real boss
Snowball’s best friend, Queenie arrived having never met an alpaca and immediately acted as though she owned the place. Bossy, confident and full of mischief, she now behaves as if she has always belonged.
Woolly, Dave, Gerald & Pippin
The carpark sheep
The other four sheep prefer to hover by the car park area in the hope of biscuits and pats on the head. They are less honorary alpacas and more opportunists.
